Let Us Customize Your Chapter Logo

As a free member service, we are offering to customize your logo with your chapter name. To fit in the template, you acronym cannot exceed five characters, and we recommend that you keep a color palette consistent with National. However, we will work with you to get you exactly what you need. At the moment, it only takes a few hours to create a proof for your review, but as we receive more requests for customized logos, the production time will increase. Please contact Kathryn Gaglione to customize your logo or for any other logo assistance.

NAHU members and chapters are encouraged to incorporate the new logo into marketing materials and electronic communications at your earliest convenience. We want you to make this change at a pace that is appropriate for you, so please take the time you need to transition to the new look.

Here are the new logo specs:

Long Term Care Awareness Month

Are our members ready for the growing consumer interest in Long-Term Care Insurance?

With November being Long-Term Care Awareness Month, it would be very timely for your chapter to announce two special events focusing on long-term care planning and long-term care insurance.

LTC is now a hot topic and one that many of our members will be discussing with their clients and prospects.

Here are my two recommendations for your chapter to announce in November as coming events for 2012.

1. We’ve made a special arrangement for our members to obtain the LTCP Designation and FOR CHAPTERS TO RECEIVE NON-DUES REVENUE. We will be using the new LTCP Blended Learning Program. The chapter will host a six-hour workshop where the course on the LTC product will be taught. The student will then take the remaining three courses online at their convenience.

2. Use this comprehensive 60-minute presentation for a chapter meeting. The topic will be the LTCI industry’s new consumer awareness campaign. Called “3in4 Need More,” the concept is similar to the dairy industry’s “Got Milk” campaign. The turn-key presentation package will include a script, PowerPoints and strategies to help agents successfully market this product. A shorter 15-minute presentation will also be available.

For more information on these two programs, please contact Margie Barrie at margiebarrie@comcast.net or call her at 941-355-7600.

YAHU Capitol Conference Scholarships

Thanks to a generous grant from Colonial Life, YAHU is able to offer scholarships to cover the Capitol Conference registration fee. Scholarship recipients are responsible for their own hotel and travel.

The scholarships are for young agents, those agents relatively new to the industry and under the age of 40. This is designed to get those agents involved with the association on a national level and allow them to really experience the benefits of being a member of NAHU.

Capitol Conference is a very powerful learning experience and can give you a jump-start to be more active in our association and industry.

Click here for a scholarship application. Applications are due by November 1!

National Association of
Health Underwriters

NAHU is excited to announce a new logo. With overwhelming approval from the national board, this is the first major change to the logo in nearly 30 years. The new logo reflects both the evolution of our association and the transformative changes occurring in the health insurance industry.

A change to our current logo is long overdue and has been repeatedly recommended by our consultants for the past 10 years. Since our inception in 1930, NAHU has grown both in size and stature to represent a diverse membership with common goals and a united voice in preserving America’s rich traditions of innovation and progress. To reflect that ever-evolving message, we needed a new symbol—a more contemporary and professional logo. The new look promotes NAHU’s position as an industry leader, a consumer advocate and the premiere trade association representing health insurance professionals.

The design of the logo is symbolic. The arc represents the protection health insurance brings to all Americans, while the tagline “America’s Benefit Specialists” describes who we are and what we do every day for America’s health care consumers. “Protecting the Consumer’s Future” denotes our unwavering commitment to provide the best professional service and advocacy to American families and businesses.

NAHU has worked tirelessly both on Capitol Hill and in state capitals across the country to establish a name legislators, policymakers and industry representatives know and trust. It is that name—not our logo—that distinguishes who we are. Our more modern logo will enhance our image, allowing us to cultivate our standing as an authority on health care legislation, implementation, education and advocacy. With our national office moving into Washington, DC, next month, our logo needed to be modernized and the time was right for this change. Interestingly, the last time we made significant changes to the logo was in 1983 when our offices moved to DC from Hartland, Wisconsin.

While much has changed over the last few years in our industry, NAHU continues its commitment to grow stronger and expand our member services. Our new logo reflects the many ways we respond to the changing needs and continuing expansion of our industry. Members who have previewed the logo say it is "modern," "forward-leaning," "energizing" and "strong." And we hope you will agree.
